Give more than you take!
I was having a funky day and it just seemed that nothing was going right. I found myself feeling uncreative and in a spiral of “nothing’s right”. For some reason, I decided not to push it and so I changed where I put my energy. So, I spent the day thinking about things I could do for people in my life that were having a tough time. I made a list and started systematically accomplishing each item. Some of the stuff was small … maybe a phone call of support, some emails and a big surprise kiss for my sweetheart Lisa, who was studying with headphones on. She jumped up with surprise: “Wow, what a great kiss!”
Anyway, I had forgotten about myself and my problems as the day went on. All of a sudden, the day had turned around, my spirit was all positive! I realized that I had been very focused on myself for to long and that I needed to give back. So, as usual, I try to put it into a phrase that is easy to remember: Whenever you feel like being your own worst enemy, don’t fight it but let it go and take care about the people who surround you.
With that in mind, we wish you all a Merry Christmas with your beloved friends and family. Enjoy your holidays and have a good slide into the new year 2017!
