Quick Win #36

More Fun with a "2"

Here's a quick summary of the main takeaways from this Quick Win!

  • you may start with a resolution of "2" to "4" and fill up the missing harmonies later to create valid chord structures
  • when sticking to the treble's chromatic movement in opposite directions, we can quickly connect to Negative Harmony concepts in the root movement (see the symmetry?)

Advice

You may want to try shifting your final chord by one or two chromatic steps after you've written out the resolution. To bridge over potential gaps in the voices, you can bring in an additional Position Change (PC) before moving into the final chord. This can open up some exciting harmonic twists!
