One Sketch - Two Compositions
Once you've found a solid sketch, please don't waste it for only one composition but reuse it (or portions of it) for other original works!
Your sketches should always go into your "bag of tricks" so that you can reuse them (or portions of them). It's the orchestration and the musical context around it that will make a sketch appear completely different and unique once the final work is finished.
I'm a huge fan of storing and organizing my sketches because they allow me to compose very quickly and stay inspired.
